Donation Drive for Caritas in April and May

If you would like to help out, but you're unable to volunteer your time, please consider supporting our donation drive for Caritas. Caritas is an organization that has been helping people in the Richmond area since the 1980's. They support the community through a variety of services: providing emergency shelter to men and women, the Furniture Bank (provides basic furniture and items for those that have been recently been placed in a home), the Healing Place (long-term residential recovery program for individuals suffering from substance use disorder), the Works (job skill readiness and life skill development program), and much more. Please visit their website to learn more about this organization: https://www.caritasva.org/

Here is a list of items that they currently need:

Basic adult backpacks
Laundry baskets
Men's underwear (new)
Kitchenware items (i.e. pots and pans, cutlery)
Pillows
Toilet paper (300 people live here, so we go through a lot!)
You can also look on their website to see the full list of items accepted: https://www.caritasva.org/give-help/donate-items/items-accepted/

You can bring donations to the April chapter meeting or the May Installation of Officers. You can also reach out to Jessica Ooms to schedule a donation drop-off: jessica.richmondaorn@yahoo.com

Come volunteer with Moments of Hope Outreach at Saturday Servings on April 6 from 12:15 - 2pm

We will help with the clothing ministry and distribute clothing and shoes to those in need. All that you need to do is show up with a smile on your face and be willing to share a little love with your community. Here's the link to the website if you would like additional information: https://momentsofhopeoutreach.org/

If you can't help this coming Saturday, that's okay. We plan to volunteer the first Saturday of every month. Find a time that works with you schedule, put it on you calendar, and make a commitment to help out!!

The address for the volunteer event is: Brookhill Azalea Shopping Center, 5300 Chamberlayne Rd. (across the parking lot from Food Lion).

Feel free to bring clothing or shoe donations. If you need donation ideas or would like to order items online, please check out their Amazon wish list: https://a.co/9NjezaB
