2026 VCORN Conference and Workshop

Leading Within and Beyond the Red Line

Location: HCA Center for Clinical Advancement, 7300 Beaufont Springs Drive, Richmond, VA 23225

Conference sessions include:

* Perioperative-Perianesthesia Relationships -- Cameron Covington, CRNA

* Conflict Management -- Leigh Anne Bartlett, AORN National Board of Directors

* Transformational Leadership -- Patty Carey, Vice President Surgical Services, Bon Secours, Richmond Market

* Entrepreneurship -- DeeDee Karanian, CRNA

Registered nurses, surgical assistants, and surgical technologists are welcome to attend the conference.

Fee: $55 registration fee, $60 day of conference

Sign up for the conference with the QR code shown on the flyer. Make sure to complete the registration form and submit your payment by clicking the link on the second page (two step process).

Breakfast and lunch will be provided. There will be a silent auction with baskets full of fun gift items. Vendors will be present at the conference where you will have the chance to learn more about some of their products used in the OR. There will also be a VCORN meeting after the conference. We hope to see you there!

Here's some additional information about the conference and workshop:

Learning objectives: 

1. Describe the key characteristics of transformational leaders.

2. Identify common sources of perioperative team conflict.

3. Discuss strategies to strengthen collaboration.

4. Explore opportunities for nurse-led ventures.

Learning outcome: after attending the session, 90% of attendees will be able to identify two pieces of knowledge to implement in practice. 

This continuing nursing education activity was approved by the Association of perioperative Registered Nurses, INC., an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission in Accreditation. AORN recognized this activity as continuing education for registered nurses. This recognition does not imply that AORN approves or endorses a product included in the presentation.
